Phasefocus, the Sheffield-based makers of Livecyte, the live cell high-content analysis system, are delighted to announce the opening of a second UK office based in BioCity, Nottingham.
In response to a significant uptick in Livecyte sales in 2020 and a very positive outlook beyond, Phasefocus has decided to open a new dedicated Livecyte production facility. The new facility will be based in BioCity, a pioneering life science incubator and business collective in Nottingham. Founded in 2002 by the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University, BioCity originated in a former BASF Pharma research facility in Nottingham city centre. Now home to more than 200 companies, many in the biotechnology section, this facility is ideal for Phasefocus’s growing needs.
Phasefocus’s CEO, Dr. Martin Humphry, said “As Phasefocus looks to 2021 and beyond we are anticipating a step change in demand for Livecyte, necessitating an expansion of our production facilities. BioCity has exactly the right mix of flexible lab space, shared scientific and business facilities, whilst being only a short distance from our head office in Sheffield.”
